It didn't take long for us to break the earth

It didn't take long for us to break the earth,
our force to plead the time gone.
And sweep away the dirtness of the hearth,
for the light grew dim and days grew prone.

Shall I tell you I forgot how to breathe?
Dark hands of my own malice to weep -
wipe my tears, give me some heat.
Yesterday was easy to leap.

Climbing up my stone wall,
reaching for the marbled depths.
And then I began to crawl,
threw myself onto no facts.

Traded myself for dust,
saw both of us becoming ablaze -
thinking long gone was trust,
glimmering last inche of daze.

Nothing is more pitiful than us.
